E&S Insurance Underwriter — AI Trainer
JobHub by NeonLabs, in partnership with Mercor, is seeking U.S.-based experts with direct underwriting experience in the Excess & Specialty Insurance market to support leading AI labs in training frontier models.
This role focuses on leveraging your domain expertise to train and enhance the next generation of AI systems. You will apply your deep understanding of risk selection, pricing, coverage structuring, and portfolio management to complex data evaluation, helping researchers build specialized AI tools for the insurance industry.
What You'll Do
- Train and enhance frontier AI models using your hands-on expertise in Excess & Specialty Insurance underwriting
- Evaluate complex underwriting scenarios, risk selection methodologies, and pricing models for AI research teams
- Collaborate remotely with leading AI researchers to shape industry-specific AI systems
- Provide high-quality insights without utilizing confidential or proprietary information from any current or past employers
Ideal Qualifications
- Based in the United States (H1-B or STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported at this time)
- 3+ years of experience in Excess & Specialty Insurance underwriting; 5+ years strongly preferred
- Direct, hands-on experience underwriting SME/commercial risks
- Deep understanding of risk selection, pricing, coverage structuring, and portfolio management
- Experience in relevant lines: Excess Casualty, Professional/Management Liability, Cyber, Environmental, Excess Property, E&S General Liability, Construction, or Transportation
- Background with organizations such as Chubb, AIG, Markel, Arch, AXA XL, Liberty Mutual, Ryan Specialty, Amwins, CRC Group, or similar
