Mercor is hiring for this role as an independent contractor engagement. Work is remote and project based.

Mercor is partnering with a leading legal AI company on a blinded human-preference study. This listing covers the scarcest specialisms on the project, where subject-matter depth is hardest to source.

What you'll do

• Read a synthetic legal matter and its underlying documents
• Review six blinded AI deliverables (labelled A-F) for that matter
• Make five head-to-head comparisons against a common comparator output
• Write a short, specific rationale for every preference

Practice scope

One of: sanctions and export controls; structured finance and securitisation; or life sciences and pharmaceutical regulatory. Reviewers are assigned only to matters inside their own specialism.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with deep, current practice experience in one of the specialisms above
• Able to judge work product holistically , correctness, completeness, judgment, usefulness
• Precise written English
• Able to work independently to written instructions and a deadline

Logistics

• Commitment: ~24-30 hours across the engagement, depending on specialism
• Confidentiality: all work is covered by NDA. External AI tools must not be used on any project material.
