CAD Engineers: Parametric Modeling and Modification Tasks
This role is hiring through Terac, not NeonLabs. The description below is Terac’s own wording from their official listing, so "we" and "our" refer to Terac.
Overview
The CAD Engineers: Parametric Modeling and Modification Tasks role is a remote contract position. It suits experienced professionals who want flexible, project-based AI work reviewed on a rolling basis. You collaborate directly with client teams on real deliverables that help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems, with no long-term commitment required.
We are running a paid study gathering realistic parametric CAD models and corresponding engineering modification tasks. We need experienced mechanical designers to build and submit editable 3D assemblies that retain their full design history.
What We're Researching
We're running a paid study on parametric design practices and mechanical engineering workflows. This project focuses on how professional designers construct 3D assemblies and plan for future modifications. Your contributions will help us evaluate industry-standard approaches to feature trees and design history management.
How It Works
You will be tasked with creating realistic parametric CAD models from scratch based on specific engineering requirements. After completing the initial geometry, you will document and execute a series of structural modification tasks on your own design. While you can draw on experience from various modeling environments, all final submissions must be delivered as native, editable SolidWorks files. We expect you to maintain a clean feature tree that clearly demonstrates your design intent and revision history.
Who This Is For
We are looking for mechanical engineers, product designers, and CAD specialists with strong 3D modeling fundamentals. We welcome professionals with backgrounds in SolidWorks, NX, Fusion 360, or other major parametric design software. You must have the ability to generate clean, native SolidWorks files with an intact design history for your final deliverables.
What you will do
- Create complex parametric CAD models based on realistic engineering scenarios
- Design and execute structural modification tasks on your initial geometry
- Maintain a logical feature tree that preserves full design history
- Export and submit all final deliverables as native SolidWorks files
Who qualifies
- Professional experience in mechanical engineering or industrial design
- Strong proficiency with 3D parametric modeling software (SolidWorks, NX, Fusion 360)
- Ability to produce native, fully editable SolidWorks assemblies
- Comfortable building models that anticipate future structural modifications
Details
- Pay: $200 per task
