Mechanical Engineers (Automotive and Aerospace): Project on Change Workflows
This role is hiring through Terac, not NeonLabs. The description below is Terac’s own wording from their official listing, so "we" and "our" refer to Terac.
Overview
The Mechanical Engineers (Automotive and Aerospace): Project on Change Workflows role is a remote contract position. It suits experienced professionals who want flexible, project-based AI work reviewed on a rolling basis. You collaborate directly with client teams on real deliverables that help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems, with no long-term commitment required.
We are conducting a paid study on engineering change workflows and CAD modeling practices in heavy industry. We need mechanical engineering experts to deliver realistic CAD models and document their typical change management processes.
What We're Researching
We're hiring Mechanical Engineering SMEs to help us evaluate standard engineering change workflows. This paid project focuses on how complex CAD models are managed and updated within professional automotive and aerospace environments. Your input will feed directly into improving tools for managing engineering documentation and version control.
How It Works
You will participate in a remote session to walk us through your typical engineering change processes. During the study, you will deliver realistic CAD models using tools like SolidWorks or FreeCAD. You will then document the steps required to implement and approve a design change within those models. Finally, you will answer a series of questions about the friction points in your current workflow.
Who This Is For
We welcome mechanical engineers with professional design experience in the automotive or aerospace sectors. Ideal candidates have hands-on expertise with industry-standard CAD software, including SolidWorks and FreeCAD. We are specifically looking for professionals who actively manage engineering change documentation as part of their day-to-day role.
What you will do
- Deliver realistic CAD models using SolidWorks, FreeCAD, or similar tools.
- Walk us through your standard engineering change workflows.
- Document the steps taken to update and approve design modifications.
- Provide feedback on current challenges in version control and documentation.
Who qualifies
- Professional mechanical engineering experience
- Background in automotive or aerospace design environments
- Hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks or FreeCAD
- Familiarity with standard engineering change order processes
