Hardware Expert

Pay: $50 to $100/hour

Location: Global, fully remote

Schedule: Flexible, you choose the hours and days you work, including weekends if desired

We are looking for a highly skilled CAD and mechanical-design expert to contribute to an AI training project involving technical drawings, computational geometry, programmatic CAD, and Python.

The work involves interpreting dimensioned engineering schematics and reproducing them as precise 3D solid models. A representative task may require constructing a mechanical component with complex curved geometry, implementing the model through Python, exporting it as a STEP file, and validating it against strict geometric and physical requirements.

This is not a general hardware-support or electronics role. Candidates should have strong CAD, spatial-reasoning, geometry, and technical problem-solving abilities.

What You’ll Work On

Required Qualifications

Relevant tools may include build123d, CadQuery, FreeCAD, OpenCascade, Fusion 360, Onshape, SolidWorks, trimesh, or other CAD and geometry software. No specific tool is mandatory if your experience is transferable.

Formal education and years of professional experience are not strict requirements. Mechanical designers, CAD specialists, engineers, researchers, makers, and independent technical experts are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate the relevant skills.
