Mercor, on behalf of a leading AI lab, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with deep experience in specialty pharmacy and prior authorization workflows to help modernize clinical operations.
In this role you will bridge healthcare delivery and data science, ensuring AI models understand the nuances of payer requirements, benefits investigations, and specialty drug coordination.
What You'll Do
The Pharmacy Technician - Specialty Pharmacy role is a remote contract position paying $28-$35/hr. It suits experienced professionals who want flexible, project-based AI work reviewed on a rolling basis. You collaborate directly with client teams on real deliverables that help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems, with no long-term commitment required.
- Annotate and structure data: Label pharmacy workflows, claims notes, and clinical documentation for AI training sets.
- Partner with AI engineers: Translate real-world pharmacy processes into guidance that improves model design and validation.
- Quality assurance: Audit AI-generated outputs to confirm accuracy, compliance, and workflow fit.
- Knowledge sharing: Help define schemas, SOPs, and evaluation metrics that reflect authentic specialty pharmacy operations.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years as a Pharmacy Technician in a specialty pharmacy, PBM, or related setting.
- Hands-on experience with prior authorizations, insurance verification, and benefits investigations.
- Working knowledge of payer portals, formulary checks, specialty drugs, and HIPAA compliance.
- Comfort with structured data tools (EHR systems, CRMs, spreadsheets) and clear written documentation.
- Bonus: CPhT certification and prior collaboration with data or engineering teams.
