CAD Engineers: Parametric Modeling and Modification Tasks
This role is hiring through Terac, not NeonLabs. The description below is Terac’s own wording from their official listing, so "we" and "our" refer to Terac.
Overview
The CAD Engineers: Parametric Modeling and Modification Tasks role is a remote internship position. It suits experienced professionals who want flexible, project-based AI work reviewed on a rolling basis. You collaborate directly with client teams on real deliverables that help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems, with no long-term commitment required.
We are running a paid project focused on building realistic parametric CAD models and engineering modification tasks. We need experienced mechanical designers to create and submit native, editable designs using FreeCAD.
What We're Researching
We're hiring skilled CAD engineers to develop realistic parametric models and corresponding engineering modification tasks. This paid study focuses on evaluating how engineering designs are structured and modified within open-source environments. Your work will directly support our internal testing and development of mechanical design workflows.
How It Works
You will review technical briefs detailing specific engineering constraints and modification scenarios. From there, you will construct detailed parametric models that meet those technical requirements. Once the initial modeling is complete, you will document the required engineering modification tasks. All final submissions must be delivered as native, editable FreeCAD files.
Who This Is For
We welcome mechanical engineers, product designers, and CAD specialists with professional modeling experience. While a background in major platforms like SolidWorks, NX, or Fusion 360 is expected, you must be comfortable delivering final files via FreeCAD. Candidates should have a strong grasp of parametric design principles and standard mechanical engineering practices.
What you will do
- Review technical briefs for parametric modeling assignments
- Design realistic mechanical models from scratch using proper constraints
- Formulate specific engineering modification tasks based on your models
- Export and submit all deliverables in the native FreeCAD file format
Who qualifies
- Professional experience in mechanical engineering or industrial design
- Proficiency with parametric CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Ability to create and deliver native, editable FreeCAD files
- Strong understanding of mechanical constraints and design history
Details
- Pay: $300 (one-time)
